NATURAL FERMENTED (sourdough)

Spartan and healthful these breads have only three base ingredients: flour, water, salt.

This style of bread is leavened naturally. This means that no baker’s yeast has been added to get the dough to raise. Instead we have cultured the organisms that live naturally on the grains as they grow in the field, these organisms naturally make the dough rise! This is the way all bread was once made.

Our Sourdough bread is made using a young natural starter, this results in a very mild and wheaty naturally leavened bread.

Expect the crust of these breads to be crusty and the crumb (interior) to be chewy. Enjoy this bread in all the usual ways. If the crust gets too chewy just put the loaf in a hot oven for 5 minutes or toast a slice.

 SPROUTED GRAIN BREADS

These sprouted grain breads represent the ultimate in healthy eating. Each loaf has a over 3/4 pound of fresh fermented sprouts!

More than 50% of the flour has been replaced with fresh sprouted and fermented (right in the bakery) organic whole grains. The addition of various other seeds and vegetables like flax, pumpkin, sunflower, carrot, etc. makes this loaf packed with life essential minerals and vitamins.

It is also naturally leavened using our homegrown starter culture (sourdough).

Enjoy with any of your favorite toppings. Toasted, this will become an easy and healthy breakfast that will become a standard way to start your day! These breads have all the attributes as the above varieties except that this is a very dense style of bread and comes in a rectangular loaf.
